The Bio:
While exposing herself to non-traditional Toronto foods, Bonnie cracked open a fortune cookie that read "Dreams aren't supposed to just come true - they are meant to be pursued." She has been pursuing her dreams and crossing them off of her lengthy checklist faster than she could have ever imagined possible.
It all began when Bonnie joined Topix as a co-op student in 1999, where she fell in love with compositing. She pursued compositing through a two year course at Seneca College. With degree in hand she returned to Topix to discover they had just opened a feature film division named Mr. X Inc. Bonnie had a large interest in film and joined their team. She proved valuable as I/O Manager & Assistant Compositor with her strong organizational, multi-tasking, leadership and teamwork skills, where she worked for four years on over 20 feature films. After a short break from visual effects to pursue her photography and artistic desires, she returned to the Topix team as a Compositor. She realized that her skills and strengths were better suited for a production role and is currently working with the Producers, Artists & System Admins to revamp the Topix pipeline, as their first Production Supervisor.
Many of her dreams and inspirations came from the amazing artists at Topix and she is glad to be back among them. She hopes to inspire others the same way one day. For now she spends most of her free time pursuing her digital art and photography desires.
Bonnie has had the privilege of showing her digital artwork in the following:
- Relish & 567vfx Art Show 2009
- Sis Boom Bah Art Gallery
- Café Taste
- Latitude 44 Gallery as part of the 2007 Junction Arts Festival
- Bleecker Street 2007 Artsweek Festival
